Why Self Storage?

Types of Storage Units
At Glacier West Self Storage, we offer a variety of storage unit types suitable for different purposes, with availability varying by location.
- Indoor units. Your standard storage units, available in various sizes, are housed inside our storage facility buildings.
- Drive-up units. For anyone who would benefit from driving a vehicle directly to the door of their unit, these spaces have outdoor access from a driveway or aisle with a roll-up door for easy loading and unloading.
- Heated and climate-controlled storage units. At select locations, Glacier West Self Storage offers heated storage or climate-controlled storage to help protect items from temperature changes. Climate-controlled units have heating and cooling capabilities to maintain a stable temperature between 50°F and 85°F.

Storage Amenities
You’ve probably seen us mention our industry-grade amenities—but what does that mean? Below are some of our most relevant features and how they benefit your experience.
- Moving truck rentals. We provide moving truck rental services at many of our locations for your convenience, giving you easily accessible storage transportation to and from your unit.
- Packing supplies. Are you afraid you’ll forget to grab something at your home improvement store before packing your things? Glacier West Self Storage has packing and moving supplies, including boxes, tape, bubble wrap, packing paper, and more, available for purchase on-site at most facilities. - 24-hour surveillance. Glacier West has cameras recording our facilities at all hours of the day and night, helping to give you peace of mind that we’re keeping a close eye on your things.
- Gated electronic access. Access to our facilities is granted via a personalized PIN at our electronic gate. For outdoor storage spaces, lots are fully fenced.
- Month-to-month rentals. If you have concerns about signing any long-term leases, you won’t have to worry with us. Our storage spaces are rented monthly, with payment due the first day of the month. Should your storage needs change, we want you to have maximum flexibility over your belongings.
- Long access hours. To give you the flexibility to visit your storage unit when it best works for you, our access hours are seven days a week and allow you to stop by your unit when it’s convenient for you.
(*Access hours vary by facility) - Wide driveways. If you need to drive a moving truck up to your unit or are looking to store a large RV or boat, many of our facilities were designed with wide driveways and aisles to help accommodate the turning radius of such vehicles.

Common Storage Items
Our range of storage unit varieties and sizes accommodates various storage needs for professional and personal storage use cases. Here are some of the most commonly stored items at Glacier West.

Items You Cannot Store
By the law and building regulations, several items cannot be stored with Glacier West Self Storage. These items are prohibited as they are illegal, dangerous, or harmful to our facility and other storage units.
- Combustible materials. You cannot store combustible materials due to the threat of them catching fire. This includes fireworks, fuel tanks, fertilizer, paint thinner, etc. In general, avoid storing it if it seems like it could go up in flames.
- Living plants and animals. Do not treat a storage space as a replacement for a proper pet sitter. Storage spaces are not built for people or animals to live in, and the food you leave out for your pets and plant soil could attract pests.
- Food of any kind. This includes but is not limited to, canned foods, perishable foods, dry foods, or pet food. Food attracts pests, which can cause infestations in your storage space and spread to others.
- Illegal items. Prohibited weapons, illicit drugs, drug paraphernalia, and stolen items are not permitted at Glacier West Self Storage. If it’s unlawful to house it elsewhere, you cannot store it here.
How to Rent With Us
At Glacier West Self Storage, we aim to make the rental process transparent and user-friendly to give you an ideal experience. There are three ways to rent with us:
- Online. You can find a unit at your nearest storage facility and reserve or rent online from your device.
- Phone. For anyone who likes to talk things through, feel free to give us a call, and we can get everything squared away in a conversation.
- In person. If you want to see your unit before signing your rental agreement, stop by your local Glacier West Self Storage and rent with us in person.
*Note that all new rentals require contacting the facility office during office hours to obtain their gate code, in order to access their unit.
